Home!

We’ve done it! We cycled into ShelterBox HQ in Helston at just after 11.30 this morning – with 10,775 miles (17,240km) on the clock.

The box arrives home!

Arrived to a big cheer, a Welcome Home banner – and champagne. So, are we there yet? Most definitely, yes!

We might even have a day off cycling tomorrow to celebrate… 😉

  1. Congratulations, it has been a long time and many miles since we saw you in Wolf Creek Montana, one early September morning, the Rotarian from Atlanta GA. Followed you all the way.

    • Remember the place (and the meeting) very well. We have great memories of our time in the US. One day we’ll have to come back and cycle across some of the other states!
      Cheers, Huw

  2. Well done! I’ve been following you ever since we met one wet night in a campsite just short of Yellowstone. Very impressed.

    • Thanks, Dom. We enjoyed having a chat with a fellow Brit – and a chance to compare notes on those Americans! Hope your own journey went as well as ours. All the best, Huw

  3. Congratulations to you both…… right, what next? lol………xx

    • What next? Well, a couple of weeks holiday in Cornwall to begin… although as our car is still in storage the tandem isn’t going to be put away quite yet!

  4. Guys a massive congratulations from sunny Viseu, on your mammoth achievement! Well done! May the repercussions be far greater and wider than you ever dreamed to imagine!

  5. Huw & Carolyn,

Congratulations on a job well done! It seems a long time ago since you were in Armidale NSW Australia and it hard to imagine you’ve just kept ridding from then until now – a fantastic effort. Thanks for the great things you have done for Shelter Box world-wide – The members of the Rotary Club of Armidale A.M.

  6. Congratulations on your success. It was an amazing vision, and you made it happen! 3 cheers: Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray!

  7. Phew, a hot afternoon in Bicchisano – what to do? I know, I’ll take a look at the facebook thing and … wow! You made it, you amazing, pedalling duo, what a brilliant achievement! Congratulations from us all – especially me, as I find the idea of cycling to the shops a bit of a challenge. WE hope to see you in the UK in the not too distant future, or are you off teaching in sunnier climes again? Love from Laura, Simon, Liam and two wwoofers, xx.
