We arrived in Australia on 2nd March 2011. Listed below are each stop, arrival dates and cycling distances – plus details of any talks, media interviews etc.

THE ITINERARY:

Brisbane – Wednesday 2nd March: Fly in from Auckland. Talks to Rotary Clubs of Brisbane Planetarium, Archerfield and Rocklea(Thurs). Interview with ABC Radio.

Narrangba – Sunday 6th (30 miles): BBQ with members of Caboolture Rotary Club.

Caloundra – Monday 7th (42 miles): Talk to Rotary Club of Caloundra (Tues).

Noosa – Tuesday 8th (35 miles): Talk to Rotary Clubs of Noosa Heads, Noosa and Noosa Heads Daybreak. Interview with Noosa News & Sunshine Coast Daily newspaper.

Gympie – Thursday 10th (15 miles): Presentation to joint meeting of Gympie and Gympie Cooloola Rotary Clubs (Thurs), presentation to final year students at Gympie High School (Fri). Interview with Gympie Times.

Rainbow Beach – Saturday 12th (50 miles)

Tin Can Bay – Sunday 13th (25 miles)

Maryborough – Monday 14th (48 miles): Interview with Coastline & Tourist Queensland newspaper.

Hervey Bay – Tuesday 15th (25 miles): ShelterBox display at Centro shopping centre, talk to Hervey Bay, Hervey Bay City and Hervey Bay Sunrise Rotary Club. Interviews with Fraser Coast Chronicle and Hervey Bay Independent newspapers.

Maryborough – Wednesday 16th (24 miles): Talk to Maryborough City Rotary Club

Kilkivan – Thursday 17th (62 miles)

Kingaroy – Friday 18th (60 miles): ShelterBox display in Kingaroy and evening with members of Kingaroy Rotary Club. Interview with South Burnett Times.

Bunya Mtns National Park – Sunday 20th (39 miles)

Dalby – Monday 21st (39 miles): Talk to Dalby Rotary Club

Toowoomba – Tuesday 22nd (73 miles): Talk to Toowoomba South Rotary Club (Tues). Interviews with WIN TV, Toowoomba Chronicle and ABC Radio Queensland. Visit to Toowoomba Grammar School.

Warwick – Thursday 24th (55 miles): BBQ with members of Warwick Rotary Club. Interview with Warwick Daily News.

Stanthorpe – Friday 25th (49 miles): Interview with Stanthorpe Border Post.

Tenterfield – Saturday 26th (42 miles): Meeting with members of Tenterfield Rotary Club

Glen Innes – Sunday 27th (60 miles)

Guyra – Monday 28th (44 miles): Talks to Guyra Rotary Club and Guyra Central School

Armidale – Tuesday 29th (24 miles): Talk to Armidale AM Rotary Club, visits to Duval High School & O’Connor College. Interviews with 2AD Radio and Prime TV News.

Tamworth – Thursday 31st (67 miles): Interview with Power FM Radio – Muswellbrook.

Quirindi – Friday 1st April (46 miles)

Muswellbrook – Saturday 2nd (64 miles): Display at Marketplace Shopping Mall

Singleton – Sunday 3rd (31 miles): BBQ with members of Singleton Rotary Club

Newcastle – Monday 4th (63 miles)

Bateau Bay – Wednesday 6th (41 miles), Thursday 7th (25 miles): Interviews with NBN Central Coast TV , ABC Central Coast Radio and Express Advocate newspaper. Talks to Gosford Public School and Rotary Clubs of Terrigal and Gosford North (Thurs).

Sydney – Sunday 10th (41 miles): Talk to Rotary Clubs of Kings Cross (Mon 11th) and Sydney Darling Harbour (Weds 13th). Visit to IH Sydney language school (Tues 12th).

Corrimal – Wednesday 13th (57 miles): Talk to Corrimal Rotary Club, interview with Illawarra Mercury newspaper.

Berry – Thursday 14th (44 miles): Talks to Rotary Clubs of Berry-Gerringong & Gerringong Sunrise (Thurs) and Shoalhaven Sunrise (Fri). ShelterBox display at Junction Court, Nowra (Sat).

Kiama – Sunday 17th (29 miles): ShelterBox display at Kiama Market (Sun), talk to Kiama Rotary Club (Mon), interview with Kiama Independent newspaper.

Depart Sydney on Wednesday 20th April for flight back to UK… and Part 3 of the journey!

    Happy to put you up in Hervey bay and arrange an opportunity to speak to the Rotary Club of Hervey bay and the other clubs in Hervey bay. I will visit our shopping centers to arrange an opportunity to display your project. Our local Bicycle Users Group will arrange to ride out to escort you into Hervey Bay if we know your timetable.

    Do you plan to ride down the coast from Sydney to Canberra?
    Great coastal scenery, lots of seaside towns compared to boring main hwy route to ACT Canberra !
    Was a racing biker in my youth, we will have a good number of riders to meet you on the well- known ride to Wollongong, could be a great event for publicity/Shelterbox,
    let’s know soon your plans etc
