Carolyn says: This great trip has been particularly special over the past week thanks to the continuing hospitality of the lovely American people we’ve met – especially welcome after the previous five days of camping!
We were sent on our way from Teton National Park with home-made fruit cake and sticky buns courtesy of fellow freezing campers Andre & Gerda and Buzz & TK.
Since then we’ve stayed with chocolatier Laurance in Jackson, who gave us free reign in her chocolate studio; woke up on Huw’s birthday to a stunning view of the mountains from our bedroom in the amazing home of Hoback Ranchers Bill and Louise; and had great fun on Tim’s speedboat in Pinedale.
Now, thanks to more welcoming Rotarians in Rock Springs, I’ve just enjoyed a relaxing swim in a pool directly outside my hotel bedroom. All this in one week – and non-stop sunshine too. Plus, to top it all off we had great news from home – my friend Cheryl gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl, Bella Rose. The feel-good factor just keeps on rising…………..
Guys, amazing stories of an amazing trip – congrats! Gripping reading – and viewing! You have now been formally introduced to all the new teachers in IH Viseu’s orientation week competition…
And the IWB guy, who came in to tell us about the 2 shiny brand new finger-touch responsive IWBs he’s just installed here (rooms 4 & C!), wants to follow news on the blog and try to get his company to sponsor Shelter box!!

Saw you energetically biking just south of Yellowstone Park’s south entrance as I passed you at Flagg Ranch where I was driving to collecting firewood in the Forest for the coming winter. Could not stop with my truck and trailer in the heavy tourist traffic, but knew you would be well received by our good Rotarians in Jackson’s Supper Club.

I have just heard that you will be in Brisbane Australia in March next year. We will certainly do our best to be as hospitable as the Americans obviously are. Looking forward to you getting here.
