Boxes, bedknobs & tandems

Meanwhile, in Queensland, our rebuilt wheel is rolling along nicely and we’ve enjoyed several days when it hasn’t rained. After leaving Hervey Bay – northern-most point on our Australia route – we backtracked to Maryborough, birthplace of Mary Poppins creator P L Travers.

From Maryborough we got onto some beautiful backroads – lovely rolling countryside and forest. Nice to enjoy some sunshine but the heat and humidity sapped our strength a bit and we were relieved to make it to Kingaroy.

And very relieved not to be cycling today as it has poured with rain practically all day!
