Aotearoa

Landed safely in Christchurch yesterday afternoon. Our bike has gone on ahead to Mosgiel, where the ShelterBox NZ team are based.

I hope it’s okay. While waiting for a connecting flight in Sydney, I saw the box with the tandem in going up the conveyor into the aircraft. Then it stopped and I watched one of the handlers crawl across it to get into the plane!

The box is only cardboard and looked a bit battered when it arrived in New Zealand. We’ll find out if there’s any damage when we get down to Mosgiel tomorrow and I can unpack it and give everything a once over before we try riding it.

In the meantime, we’ve got a day in Christchurch to adjust to the 13-hour time difference. Luckily we both slept like logs last night and woke this morning to blue skies and sunshine.
