We’re enjoying a day’s rest in Monroe, Louisiana, and a new cultural experience – the American holiday of Thanksgiving (lots of eating, relaxing and generally having a good time with new friends).

The day off has been very welcome. After leaving Dallas, we cycled seven days straight, averaging 58 miles a day. (Sorry, Carolyn, I know I promised we’d try and do a maximum of 50 miles a day but it just doesn’t always work out!)

Luckily, the cycling has been relatively easy (compared to the Rockies) and since crossing into Louisiana we’ve had several opportunities to give talks and interviews about ShelterBox and why we’re doing this trip.

And talking of Thanksgiving, below is the new video from ShelterBox. Watch this and it will give you some extra reasons to give thanks for what you’ve got:
